What is NinerNET?
NinerNET is the term used to refer to your University User Name and the password you create with PW Manager. This User Name and password pair is used to login to 49er Express, University email, the University network and other applications.
NinerNET Account Activation
Password Manager (PW Manager) is the online tool used to manage your NinerNET account password.
First time users:
- Go to Password Manager, click Activate My NinerNET Account.
- Provide your first name, last name, UNC Charlotte ID # (80xxxxxxx) and your date of birth.
- Answer at least 6 security questions.
- Create a secure password that follows the rules provided.
When you’ve successfully created your NinerNET password, you will receive your NinerNET User Name and your account will be active. Your password will expire every 180 days. PW Manager will notify you by email when your password is about to expire.
NinerNET Account Retention or “How Long Can I Keep My Account?”
Incoming students are assigned a NinerNET account when they are admitted. The NinerNET account provides access to 49er Express, email, and the University network as well as other applications.
The NinerNET account remains in effect for as long as the student is enrolled in classes.
If a student does not register for classes during two consecutive terms (not counting summer), the NinerNET account is inactivated and access to 49er Express, email, and the University network is removed.
Access to your academic history is also available through direct access to Banner Self Service which is located at https://selfservice.uncc.edu. Problems viewing your unofficial transcript?

Account Security
Create a strong password and change it often. That's the best method for ensuring that your personal information remains private. A password that's hard for you to remember is also hard for someone else to hack. As a repository of your personal information, the University takes security very seriously and we're sure you do as well.
However, even a strong password can't protect your personal information if you forget to logout of any lab or other public computer. Please remember to logout of shared computers and don't share your NinerNET account information with anyone!
