Backup Your H:\ Drive

For additional information about how long you can keep your NinerNET account, see the University's Student Account Retention Policy.

Publishing Web Pages

Find out what you need to build a simple web page and upload it to your H:\ drive. Learn more about creating web pages with HTML, Microsoft FrontPage or Macromedia Dreamweaver by accessing E-Training.

Student web space in the H:\ drive's public_html folder does not support dynamic page formats such as ASP, CGI, JSP or servlets. There are no plans to provide support for these formats in the immediate future.

Remote File Access

NetStorage allows you to access the files on your H:\ drive from a web browser by logging in to https://webf.uncc.edu with your NinerNET account. You can edit, copy, rename and move files and directories. Get more information on how to use NetStorage.  A broadband connection is suggested.

Windows Vista/IE 7 and NetStorage
Students using Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 7 will need to make the following configuration change in order to access their H:\ drive with NetStorage:
  1. In IE7, go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab.
  2. Under Security, uncheck Use TLS 1.0

Are you logged into Novell on campus? If so, you don't need NetStorage, you already have direct access to the files on your H:\ drive by clicking My Computer.
